Halloween - McMurdo style

By Karen
Ahh, Halloween. It is one of my favorite days of the year. Not only is this a time to cover up my identity and act all crazy, but it is a time to celebrate the changing of the leaves to their beautiful reds and yellows and a time to put on my favorite sweatshirt or sweater that I had stashed away over the long warm summer months.

Captain Over and Abby NoxiousHmm, well, with that said, Halloween in Antarctica is a tad different. Miles of snow and ice, definitely no colors to be seen accept for all of the big red jackets waddling around, and sweaters have been on since, well, forever. BUT, the dressing as someone or something else was out of this world. People here use up their precious free time to put their creativity to the test. Mark and I had one of the best Halloween nights ever! Who would have thought that Halloween would be such a huge night down under? Hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween as well. Open the Halloween Party Gallery and enjoy the pics!

To the only two people I know on the South Pole,

The last picture in the Halloween set is unbelievably hilarious. That picture should go around the world. Looks incredible, and cold, and white. Hope you guys are having a good time. Throw a snowball/iceball for me.

Laugh at yourself and at life. Not in the spirit of derision or whining self-pity, but as a remedy, a med that will ease your pain, cure your depression, and help you to put in perspective that seemingly terrible defeat and worry with laughter at your predicaments, thus freeing your mind to think clearly toward the solution that is certain to come.: Tramadol cheap
